Several posts by the Japanese gaming giant Sony, the parent company of PlayStation, hyped "GTA 6" fans with some thinking that they were hinting at the possibility of the game's highly anticipated launch.

This week, Sony's official TikTok account shared a video on the short-form video hosting platform, which triggered excitement within the "Grand Theft Auto" community. "You load up one of the most iconic intro songs on your PS2, featuring the Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas titles," the caption read.

This post drew much discourse over the best game songs, and one commenter suggested that the Sony TikTok account post the starting sequence to Grand Theft Auto: Vice City next. It has been confirmed that "Grand Theft Auto: Vice City" shares the setting with the upcoming "GTA 6."

Sony replied to the comment saying that the game's 20th anniversary is "soon" along with a pair of eyes emoji. "Grand Theft Auto: Vice City's" 20th anniversary is at the end of this month.

While nothing in the post explicitly stated anything about "GTA 6," fans have their interpretation of the post with others speculating that Rockstar Games, the gaming studio behind the popular game series, would reveal the upcoming title by the end of this month or in November. Well, there are several reasons why a late October or November game reveal is possible.

One of these is because Rockstar Games typically releases game trailers during this window to align with the earnings report of its mother company, Take-Two Interactive. Rockstar Games confirmed in February that a new "Grand Theft Auto" series installment is in development but aside from that, it has remained mum on the subject.

Last month, a massive leak of the supposed title surfaced online, which showed the game's early version. Rockstar Games decided to turn off the comment section of its official Twitter account at the time.

For now, these claims about the game's imminent launch are just wishful thinking, or at best, speculations. Neither Rockstar Games nor Take-Two Interactive has said anything about the official launch or revela of the highly-anticipated game "GTA 6."
