Musicians at the Golden Globes: Ariana Grande, Miley Cyrus, Selena Gomez Score Nominations

Before they head to the Grammys, Ariana Grande and Miley Cyrus will compete at the 2025 Golden Globes.

Grande’s role in Wicked landed her a nomination for best performance by a female actor in a supporting role for any motion picture, where Selena Gomez is also a nominee for Emilia Pérez; Gomez also scored two more nods for Only Murders In the Building. Cyrus is in contention for best original song for co-writing “Beautiful That Way” from The Last Showgirl, which she shares with singer Lykke Li and Andrew Wyatt, who won an Oscar for co-writing “Shallow” from A Star is Born

The musical movie and box office hit Wicked earned four nominations, including best motion picture — musical/comedy and best performance by a female actor in a motion picture — musical or comedy for Grammy, Emmy and Tony winner Cynthia Erivo.

Other big-named musicians who scored Globe nods on Monday include Maren Morris (“Kiss The Sky” from The Wild Robot) and Robbie Williams (“Forbidden Road” from his biopic Better Man). Musical partners in life and music — Clément Ducol and Camille — earned three music nominations for Emilia Pérez: best original score and two for best original song with “Mi Camino” and “El Mal,” shared with director Jacques Audiard.

Oscar, Grammy and Emmy winners Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross are double nominees this year thanks to their work on Challengers. They’re up for best original song (“Compress/Repress”) and best original score. Others in the latter category are Hans Zimmer for Dune: Part Two, Kris Bowers for The Wild Robot, Daniel Blumberg for The Brutalist and Volker Bertelmann for Conclave.

Cyrus, who won her first pair of Grammys last year for her megahit “Flowers,” is nominated at the Feb. 2 Grammys for best country duo/group performance for “II Most Wanted” with Beyoncé. Grande is nominated for three honors, including best pop vocal album for Eternal Sunshine. The 82nd annual Golden Globes will air live on Jan. 5.

Golden Globes producer Dick Clark Productions is owned by Penske Media Eldridge, a joint venture between Penske Media Corporation and Eldridge that also owns The Hollywood Reporter.
